Our team manufactured over 160 flawed specimens for an NDT training and examinations organisation based in Lagos, Nigeria.
The limited accessibility to NDT courses aligning with ISO 9712 certification in Nigeria has been a long-standing challenge. The client required high quality training and examination specimens to facilitate newly organised courses that meet the BS EN ISO 9712 (PCN) certification scheme requirements. They required specimens tailored for the Ultrasonic testing of welds (3.1, 3.2) method.
Our approach
Here’s how we achieved success for this project:
- Liaised with the client to determine and agree full project requirements
- Finalised the flaw design and configuration
- Our expert welders precisely implanted the flaws
- Thorough inspection of the specimens, including penetrant and ultrasonic inspection, to ensure they met all quality criteria
By providing high quality training and examination specimens, the training organisation were able to facilitate training and examinations in Ultrasonic Testing of Welds to the PCN (ISO 9712) certification scheme, improving the quality and accessibility of NDT training and certification within the region.
