Sonaspection supports clean water initiative through AquAid partnership 

Employee wellbeing is an important part of maintaining a productive and positive workplace. Ensuring that staff remain hydrated throughout the working day can play a key role in supporting focus, energy and overall performance. 

To support this, Sonaspection recently invested in water coolers supplied by AquAid, one of the UK’s leading providers of workplace drinking water solutions. However, the partnership brings benefits that extend far beyond the office. Through AquAid’s collaboration with The Africa Trust, every water cooler purchased contributes towards charitable projects that provide clean drinking water in African communities.  

The funds raised are used to construct Elephant Pumps – a durable and effective water system based on a traditional Chinese rope pulley design. These pumps enable villages to access safe and reliable drinking water from underground sources.  

As part of this initiative, an Elephant Pump is currently being installed in Africa on behalf of Sonaspection. Once completed, the pump will provide a vital supply of fresh drinking water for a local community. The Sonaspection name will also be displayed on the pump in recognition of the contribution.  

AquAid’s programme has already made a significant impact. To date, the company has helped fund the installation of more than 10,000 Elephant Pumps across Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe, and has donated over £22 million to charitable causes.
