An international customer in the forging industry required custom stepped bar calibration standards manufactured from Inconel 718 and Waspaloy for ultrasonic testing.

What we delivered 

Customised flat bottomed hole (FBH) for ultrasonic testing 

The waspaloy calibration standard features a crafted 0.8mm flat bottom hole (FBH) at a depth of 5mm, while its counterpart in inconel boasts a 0.4mm diameter FBH. These precise dimensions are not arbitrary, they are the result of extensive research, analysis, and collaboration with our client to determine the exact specifications required for their specific application.

To further enhance usability and functionality, our team designed bespoke stainless-steel stands for each piece. These stands serve a dual purpose: to provide stability and balance on the workbench, and to facilitate seamless immersion tank usage, allowing for efficient and effective calibration procedures.
