Approached by an international customer in the forging industry, our team were tasked with a unique challenge: to manufacture “stepped bar calibration standards” from inconel 718 and waspaloy, with distinct specifications tailored to their precise needs. 

These calibration standards play a crucial role in verifying the accuracy and reliability of measurement equipment, ensuring that every step of the forging process adheres to rigorous quality standards.

Customised flat bottomed hole (FBH) dimensions in waspaloy and inconel calibration standards 

The waspaloy calibration standard features a crafted 0.8mm flat bottom hole (FBH) at a depth of 5mm, while its counterpart in inconel boasts a 0.4mm diameter FBH. These precise dimensions are not arbitrary, they are the result of extensive research, analysis, and collaboration with our client to determine the exact specifications required for their specific application.
